How strong are family ties when long-buried secrets come to light? In the second season of Zussen (Sisters), three sisters Faya, Rolinde and Nienke, continue building their future together on the family farm. But as their dreams begin to take shape, events from the past resurface, changing their lives forever. The eight-part drama series Zussen, produced by Fiction Valley, premieres on Wednesday, 9 September at 8:30 PM on MAX (NPO 1). The first season of Zussen, which aired in April 2024, became a major success, attracting strong audiences both on linear television and online. Including catch-up viewing, the series averaged 1.5 million viewers per episode.
The sisters have ambitious plans. They want to expand their business by opening a farm shop. Faya has now moved in with Saar and Rolinde on the farm, while Nienke is trying to balance her work on the farm with her busy family life and career.
Although the three women continue to discover how much they have in common, their differences become increasingly apparent. Those differences stem from their unique family history. The sisters share the same father, but each has a different mother and was raised in a different environment. It turns out that where and by whom you are raised makes all the difference.Despite everything, the bond between the sisters proves stronger than any setback. But just as life seems to settle down, an unexpected discovery reveals yet another family secret.

The lead roles are played by Olga Zuiderhoek (grandmother Saar), Joy Delima (Rolinde), Melody Klaver (Faya) and Fockeline Ouwerkerk (Nienke). The cast also includes Elsie de Brauw, Abke Haring, Tom Janssen, Leny Breederveld, Cynthia Abma, Juda Goslinga, Yari van der Linden and Bram Suijker. The series is written by Ingrid van Berkum (Lieve Mama, Hockeyvaders), Martin van Steijn (Sleepers, Swanenburg) and Karin van der Meer (Het A-Woord, Nieuwe Buren). Direction is by Annemarie van de Mond (The Takeover, Flikken).
Zussen is a co-production between Fiction Valley and Omroep MAX. The eight-episode series premieres on Wednesday, 9 September, with new episodes airing weekly at 8:30 PM on MAX (NPO 1).
